Description du poste / stage A vacancy for an Aircraft Performance Engineer in Flight Management System (FMS) (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.You will join the department in charge of activities related to Aircraft Flight Physics and more specifically Aircraft Performance.In that position, you will deal with the implementation of solutions based on aircraft performance model within avionics. Those solutions would make the link between aircraft features and air traffic system, for optimised operations. Tâches et missions principales, responsabilités The main activities of the “Aircraft Performance” domain are to establish Airbus aircraft overall performance, providing all required performance software and data for internal and external users, from pre-development phase, to certification and support in service.You will be involved in the design of performance algorithms/functions hosted on board of the aircraft (mainly in the FMS, but more generally in the avionics) or hosted on remote devices used by the crew or supporting web services to get the optimised performance of the aircraft in its operating environment.Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:Elaborating and influencing development strategy by linking operational needs and system development constraints,Proposing innovative solutions supported by new concepts (f.i big data),Integrating performance knowledge in functions or services.oThis will be done through:Delivering of associated performance data to systems and system suppliers,Coordinating, organising and following up of development activities (including subcontracting),Interfacing with suppliers and subcontractor teams,Optimising ways of working and processes.You will have relationship with Flight Tests & Operation teams, with overall Aircraft Design teams and with System Designers or System Suppliers.This role will involve at least 2 Business Trips per year (worldwide) and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. Compétences requises We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:Educated to a 5 years-degree in Engineering Aeronautics,At least 5 years-experience in aircraft flight physics and flight mechanics,Deep knowledge about overall standards for processing aeronautical data within FM/avionics: about all the steps of the process from design to qualification through, coding, validation while mastering constraints for system design. Additional competences in data science and basic computer coding would be a plus,Proven experience in flight operations,Good knowledge on Air Traffic System functioning and constraints,Attracted by innovation, ability to build recommendations and proactive mindset,Good communication skills and team spirit,Negotiation level in English. French (or willingness to learn) would be an asset.
