Description du poste / stage A vacancy for a Flight Test Weather forecaster has arisen within Airbus (Commercial Aircraft) in Toulouse. You will join the support to flight testing department within Engineering.You will have the mission to minimize any flight test planning risk related to weather, & optimize flight tests execution flow via adequate weather related inputs & analyses.You will be in charge of relevant improvement projects related to weather management in flight tests environment.Also, in addition to the operational role in flight tests environment, you will provide support to weather prediction related projects in design office (level of support to be adapted depending on workload), and support to safety department in weather related analyses.Potential support could be offered to other Flight Test centres in ATR, Airbus Helicopter & Airbus Defense & Space as well as punctual support to other Airbus Commercial A/C entities needing weather advices (Acoustic measurements for noise development and certification flights, Safety Management, Design Office…) Tâches et missions principales, responsabilités Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:Monitoring of weather conditions (worldwide) versus forecasted Flight Test activity (Development or Production flights) and notification to involved crewsSupporting crews for weather dependent flight preparation (recurrent and on request weather briefings)Supporting crews for weather dependent flight decisionProviding advice to both Production Flight Test Engineers (FTE) in Toulouse/Hamburg & Development FTEHelping for FTE decision during the flight regarding flight continuation (via different means such as Telemetry, ground/flight links : SATCOM, VHF)Managing relationship & contracts with weather data providersImproving continuously the Meteo France tool set in place, dedicated to Flight TestsWorking in close collaboration with all Flight Test Engineers and Flight Test pilots for the different Airbus Flight Test centresHaving a direct impact on Flight Test campaign duration and costs by enabling flights to be done at the adequate moment and avoiding useless flightsWorking in close collaboration with Weather Agencies and internal Airbus IT services for tools improvementsProviding meteorological awareness session to flight test community Compétences requises You will have the following skills and experience:Educated to 5 years degree level (or equivalent) in meteorological domain or a related discipline.Knowledge of aeronautical environmentExperience in flight test would be a plusStrong communication skills: ability to interact and influenceStakeholder managementAbility to work in a multicultural environmentAdaptability, ProactivityAbility to deal in fast turning environmentAbility to present in front of large audiencePedagogyLanguage Skills: Negotiation level of English and Negotiation level of French
